Mothers Day Times Two
April 16, 2009
Although I’m sure most mothers would rather their daughter didn’t live on the other side of the world, there is one definite upside for my mum - she gets two mother’s day gifts every year.
In England we celebrate the holiday of Mothering Sunday which takes place on the fourth Sunday of Lent. In line with tradition, my mum always gets mothers day gifts from my sister and I on that day. But now that I’m living in the US, she also gets to celebrate the American holiday in May (May 10th this year).
So with three weeks to go, it’s time to think about gifts for mothers day. There’s always the old faithful flowers. Who wouldn’t love to receive a beautiful bouquet on mothers day? 1800flowers.com has some gorgeous mothers day gifts. My other option is a photo gift. I love to get creative with photos for my mum. It’s just a shame I won’t be there to make her breakfast in bed.
